What is an age verification solution?
Age verification solutions – in the form of an integrated app, pop-up window, or information form – confirm a customer’s age to restrict or allow access to age-restricted gaming content. The main aim is to take the pain out of online age verification and make it a quick, simple, and seamless process. You can integrate age verification software directly into your site or indirectly through email or SMS channels.
VerifyMyAge restricts access to 18+ games and videos by verifying the player’s date of birth, so children will only access appropriate online content.
Vet new players and identify bad actors with simple, accurate and compliant age verification.
You can have age verification up and running on your site in under 5 minutes without any serious technical know-how.
VerifyMyAge offers a range of different verification methods for users to choose from – including ID verification, credit card checks, and AI powered age estimation. What’s more, all user data is kept safe and secure courtesy of sophisticated cryptographic encryption.
We meet the legal criteria set out in the AADC and draft Online Safety Bill (2021), taking the pain out of age verification compliance without frustrating your customers
Why does the online gaming industry require age verification software?
The UK government released details of its Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC) in July 2021, which will be enforced from September 2021. The code’s impact will be felt most by companies operating online games and film and video streaming services.
What is the AADC?
The AADC sets out 15 standards for online services that process personal data and are likely to be accessed by children in the UK. As an online gaming retailer, you must follow the code’s guidelines from 2 September 2021.
